Pauline was born in 1930, in the County of Yorkshire, England, where she learned hand embroidery in a local school at the age of five years.
She emigrated to Canada in 1957, sailing across the Atlantic on the Cunard liner Carinthia. She raised a family of six children; three boys and three girls. A daughter, Linda, died tragically in an automobile accident 1986.
Pauline marvelled at the wide open spaces of Canada, the never-ending majestic beauty and breath-taking magnificence of the country. She is, as you can obviously grasp, a most proud Canadian.
The Maplerose Panels were inspired on that basis.
